Center for Advanced BioEnergy Research (CABER)
Established in 2007, the Center for Advanced BioEneregy Research (CABER) at the University of Illinois, College of ACES provides a framework for bioenergy-related research and scholarship at the U of I. It also helps facilitate cross-disciplinary research, education, and outreach programs that promote the use of biorenewable resources. CABER also provides sciencebased information to external stakeholders in the bioenergy industry.
The new technologies will create opportunities and new crops for farmers and expertise needed for industry to produce sustainable renewable energy sources. In Spring 2008, CABER coordinated a Seminar Series in Bioenergy Research with 11 seminars presented on campus to U of I students and the public. A new Professional Science Masters (PSM) degree in Bioenergy is slated for Fall 2009.
