Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR)
Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research
Since 1996, the Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR) has been proud to support agronomic research and associated advancements at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and other research institutions across Illinois. C-FAR research addresses issues and opportunities important to Illinois producers and other production decision makers. From advancing crop production systems to developing pest resistance technologies to the cultivation of biomass crops as a potential renewable energy source for Illinois and more, researchers collaborate through C-FAR to benefit Illinois and its citizens.
C-FAR is a statewide partnership organized to support stakeholder-driven, high-impact research and outreach programs for Illinois’ food and agricultural systems. Industry representatives, public officials, researchers, and other professionals work together via C-FAR to ensure Illinois’ food and agricultural industry remains strong and competitive in U.S. and world markets. C-FAR members, representing a wide range of interests, share their “in the field” experiences and expertise to identify the state’s most pressing research needs to strengthen Illinois’ top industry.
C-FAR is pleased to have provided support to several research initiatives being showcased at Agronomy Day 2007.
